Summer Camp at Bark Lake
After finishing the eastern Canada tour, we arrived at the Bark Lake Base. It was dusk when we got out of the bus. Several cabins were set in the woods. There was soft sand under our feet. After a brief reminder and request from the base staff, the boys and girls got separated and dragged their luggage to their respective cabin for the night.
Though far from the city and sometimes even without a cellphone signal, the base is fully equipped with restaurants, dormitories and activity bases.
All kinds of activities began the following day. Initially students conducted their rope training in high and low air. The coach carried out a detailed safety education, supervised our children to wear gear and examined them carefully. Then began the exciting aerial training. Students from Anqing Foreign Language School were really brave, be them boys or girls. We went first for the two projects and completed the tasks smoothly!
As for the beach party, we finally arrived at the venue after a long walk through the jungle on a rugged path. There were golden sand and crystal clear water. The three coaches’ safety watch guaranteed the children’s play in the water.
The four-day activities came to an end. Our children did not retreat or complain in spite of rainstorm, hail, water and power cut in the deep mountains and forests. The happy games and rich outward training shall be their marvelous lifetime memories!
